Artist Bio

Ana Teodorescu was born in Romania and now lives in Montréal, Canada. After starting a career in Aerospace Engineering, she decided to follow her artistic calling. Although her first medium is painting, she became a multidisciplinary artist, drawing her inspiration from music, dance and literature. Storytelling is a key element in her pieces. Contrasts and deformation are used to express ideas and emotions. Figures are portrayed emotionally and spiritually from the perspective of their interior, as a reflection of their development. She is influenced by the surrealism and symbolism movements. She completed several courses in drawing, painting and ceramics at the Visual Art Centre. She studied ceramics at Centre de Céramique Bonsecours, where she discovered Eadweard Muybridge and introduced motion in her work. She presented her first ceramic collection at Salon des Métiers d’Arts du Québec (2019). She is currently pursuing her artistic adventures in Studio Arts at Concordia University.
